The History of The Olympics. Week Ending: 10.6.16

Hello,

It was great fun today when we went over to The Juniors and we read to our new reading buddies. We also asked them questions about being in The Juniors.

This morning in Computing we became game testers. We used our problem solving skills to play a computer game. Then we came up with ideas on how we could make the game easier or harder. We also spoke about other ideas on how we could change the game.

This week we have been doing a special art activity where we have been drawing and painting pictures of our family. We will be showing off our fantastic art work as part of an art exhibition during Open Evening.

Congratulations to Amelie who was awarded Swoop this week for always being ready for her learning.

Well done Faye who is our Star of the Week because Faye always has a positive attitude.

During Topic we have been learning about the history of The Olympics. Did you know the first Olympics took place in Olympia and the athletes competed naked!! Instead of winning medals they were awarded olive leaf crowns. The Olympics started around 3000 years ago! We are looking forward to the next Olympics in Rio!

Next week Chestnut Class will be visiting Forest School on Thursday 16th June. Don't forget to bring your wellies!

As the weather is warming up please make sure you bring your sun hat and water bottle into school everyday.
